How to Care for Your Silk Sarees
Silk sarees are precious investments that deserve special care. Learn the best practices for washing, storing, and maintaining your silk sarees to keep them looking beautiful for generations.

Caring for Your Precious Silks
A silk saree is often more than just a garment — it is an heirloom, a memory, and a work of art. Proper care ensures these treasures remain vibrant and beautiful for generations.
Washing Silk Sarees
Always dry clean pure silk sarees. If you must wash at home, use cold water with a gentle silk-specific detergent. Never wring silk — instead, gently press out excess water and roll in a clean towel to absorb moisture.
Drying
Never expose silk to direct sunlight, which fades colors and weakens fibers. Dry in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Avoid tumble drying at all costs.
Storage
Store silk sarees wrapped in muslin cloth — never in plastic bags, which trap moisture and cause mildew. Fold with the right side inward to protect the luster. Add neem leaves or cedar blocks to repel insects naturally.
Ironing
Iron silk on the reverse side using a cool iron. Place a thin cotton cloth between the iron and the silk. Never iron embroidered or zari sections directly.
